Clara Rockmore, the greatest Theremin player the world has ever seen.

Keeping with the theremin persona, if you've never heard of Clara Rockmore, you REALLY should have. Her renditions of old classical songs are pure sweet perfection. Truly the most talented theremin player to have ever lived. Born in Lithuania, Clara suffered from bone problems, meaning she was unable to play the violin after a certain age. Though I'm so glad her talent could still be experienced, whether that be through the violin or theremin, because she can develop such intense emotional portrayal through sound exceptionally. Accompanied by her pianist sister, Nadia Reisenberg, Clara's incredible gift was brought to life in ecstasy. Rockmore provides solid proof that theremins were not always used purely for Sci-Fi sound tracks, but sometimes for magnificent pieces of art.

I'm not a fan of classical music myself, but hearing Clara's theremin covers have provided with me an alternate view upon songs such as 'The Swan', which soon became my favourite song ever to be performed on the theremin. If only i could have met her before she died in 1998.
